Who we are

Nancy Miller, LISW, is a dedicated mental health therapist specializing in supporting individuals and families navigating the complexities of the public sex offense registry. With a Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Iowa and 8 years of active membership in the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers (ATSA), Nancy brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her practice. Her professional expertise is deeply informed by hundreds of hours of trainings in treatment for people who have caused sexual harm and her own life experiences, which include navigating childhood sexual abuse, infertility, transracial adoption, and the challenges of mental illness. Her 38-year marriage, including 8 years navigating the sex offender registry, provides her with invaluable firsthand understanding.

Nancy's commitment extends beyond her clinical practice. She has served as a dedicated administrator for a private Facebook group of over 400 women impacted by the registry, she is a state contact for NARSOL (National Association for Rational Sex Offense Laws) and is a co-founder Iowans Unafraid, Iowa's pioneering advocacy group for registry-impacted individuals, demonstrating her unwavering dedication to advocating for rational sex offense laws. Nancy's therapeutic approach is characterized by her creativity, humor, and a genuine commitment to creating a safe and supportive space for healing. She understands the profound stigma associated with the registry and is passionate about helping clients build resilient and fulfilling lives.

Nancy Miller provides empathetic and effective therapeutic support for individuals on the registry and their families. She seeks to work collaboratively with legal professionals, probation, and parole officers who may also refer clients seeking specialized therapy in this area.
